New Joiner: Jack Buckmelter

Hi, I’m Jack, and I’ve recently joined incident.io as the first US hire!

I grew up in Denver, Colorado and went to the University of Colorado. While I love Colorado and all the great nature it has to offer, I decided to move to New York City shortly after college and have been there since. The city has presented opportunities I could have never anticipated, and incident.io is a perfect example of that.

I’m spending my first 5 weeks onboarding and meeting the team in London. Starting a job in a new continent can definitely feel like a daunting task, but as soon as I showed up I felt right at home.

Joining the company as the first American has certainly provided memories that I’ll never forget. Whether being told I have a “yankee accent” - I mispronounced the river Thames so that was on me - learning about British culture in a way I never had before (did you know they call overalls “dungarees”?), or getting ramen for lunch on my first day with our CEO Stephen, the first 5 days have been filled with great experiences and memories.

After 10 working days, I feel like I’m ramping up quicker than I could have ever imagined. I can’t wait to see what the coming days, weeks, and months will hold as we grow. I’m just excited to “crack on”!
